The Course
The course will provide attendees with the skills and knowledge to identify those at risk of pressure injury, manage the risk and when to seek medical advice.
Attendees are provided with information to provide basic wound care under supervision of a medical professional.

This course meets the requirements for support workers according to the NDIS Practice Standards 2022
Common skin integrity risks; common indications of infection and required response
Purpose and methods for positioning and turning to manage pressure and choking risks
Recognise risk and symptoms of pressure, identify when to refer to health practitioner
Follow plan instructions to inspect/replace dressings
Implications of prolonged or worsening infection
Implications of wound management for delivering daily support activities such as showering, toileting, mealtime assistance and mobility

Duration of the course is 2.5 hours
A certificate of achievement is issued to all participants.
Certificates are valid for one year
